Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are currently trying to get Wrexham into the Welsh League Cup.
Wrexham have reached dazzling new heights in the last few years and could well be plying their trade in the Championship next season.
Phil Parkinson has been able to guide them from the depths of the National League right up to the top of League One.
Away from the pitch, meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are doing everything in their power to raise the profile of the club.
It emerged in late 2024 that there are plans for Wrexham to take part in the Welsh League Cup, but there’s now been a big snag on that front.

Wrexham set to be dealt Welsh League Cup blow by FA
If successful, Wrexham would be competing in the Welsh competition alongside fellow EFL teams Swansea City, Cardiff City and Newport County.
However, there’s been much opposition to the Welsh League Cup plans, including from ex-Premier League centre-forward, Darren Bent.
Now, The Gurdian have shared an update on the situation this week and things aren’t looking good for Reynolds and McElhenney.
The FA of Wales and UEFA have both given their approval to the plans, with the winner of the competition allowed to enter the Europa Conference League in the qualifying rounds.
However, England’s FA are expected to reject the proposal when the matter is raised at a meeting of the FA’s Professional Game Board next week.

Why FA plan to reject Wrexham Welsh League Cup plan
The report from The Guardian details why the FA are against Wrexham and the other Welsh EFL sides entering the competition.
The integrity of EFL tournaments is thought to be a concern coming out of preliminary meetings.
An issue regarding fixture conjestion was also raised, which does make sense given how often teams are already playing two/three matches in the space of seven days.
Very interestingly, Wrexham are named specifically in the piece, with several clubs not thought to be happy about them gaining a further commercial advantage via European football.
It’s added that some of those teams are ‘openly resentful’ about the Red Dragons and how their fanbase has grown since Rob and Ryan took over.
