Wrexham will be pleased with the transfer business already completed in this summer’s window.

With just days remaining until the September 1st deadline, Phil Parkinson is still keen to add to his Wrexham squad.

Ipswich could hijack Wrexham’s deal for Jordan James with central midfield being the area that the Red Dragons are keen to strengthen most.

Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have broken the club’s transfer record three times already this window and one new acquisition has earned high praise from his international manager.

Craig Bellamy thinks Nathan Broadhead will ‘flourish’ at Wrexham

Speaking at a press conference ahead of naming his latest Wales squad, manager Craig Bellamy has expressed his belief that Nathan Broadhead will thrive at Wrexham.

Broadhead is Wrexham’s record signing and despite struggling in his first two games, there are high hopes that he can play a big part in guiding the Red Dragons up the table.

Bellamy stated: “Broady it will be nice for him to get a consistent run of games week in week out and to me with the fee Wrexham paid it looks like he will get that.

“That leaves me excited with Broady because I believe there’s a really good footballer there, he has the benchmarks, especially with intensity to really flourish there.”

Broadhead joins Danny Ward and Kieffer Moore in the Wales squad and Bellamy is hopeful that the continuing rise of Wrexham will mean that quality young players will emerge for the national team.

Harry Ashfield is one Wrexham academy graduate who is impressing and will be looking to push himself into Parkinson’s Championship plans.

Wales international Jordan James would be ideal missing piece for Phil Parkinson at Wrexham

It is a sign of Wrexham’s astonishing rise through the footballing pyramid that three players have been named in Bellamy’s latest squad.

Parkinson will be desperate for a fourth player to be represented by the club in Jordan James before the end of the transfer window.

Wrexham have struggled for energy in the second half of recent league games and James is a player that would certainly solve that problem.

Alongside the likes of Lewis O’Brien, he would fit perfectly at the base of the Wrexham midfield and give Parkinson’s side a solid platform to go on and be creative in the final third.

Wrexham are still confident they can persuade James to come to the Racecourse Ground, however, Ipswich are also an attractive proposition for the 21-year-old.
