Ahead of this afternoon’s mouth-watering top-of-the-table clash, Mansfield co-owner Carolyn Radford has dropped praise for Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
A huge game takes centre stage at the top of League Two as Wrexham host league leaders Mansfield at the STōK Cae Ras. Phil Parkinson‘s men trail the Stags by just three points, however, there’s a huge reward for whichever team comes out on top.
Wrexham can go level on points with a victory, strengthening their title hopes, while a win for the visitors would leave the Reds six behind and only a slim chance of winning the league.
Hollywood superstars Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds made the headlines for donating £15,000 to the Walking 4 Hope charity after finding out Stags supporter John Bell is walking 140 miles from Mansfield to Wrexham for the cause.
The charity supports individuals and families who have lost a loved one to suicide, with that goodwill gesture leaving John starstruck as well as earning recognition from across the globe.

McElhenney and Reynolds are regularly known for making charitable gestures, having donated £10,000 to a disabled four-year-old Wrexham fan just last month.
The kindness and warmth they’ve shown to the community go alongside the excellent job they’re doing as owners of Wrexham.
The community spirit they’ve harboured since taking over in February 2021 shares many parallels with Mansfield, two clubs who dropped out of the Football League together in 2008.
Carolyn Radford, co-owner of Mansfield with her husband John, became English football’s youngest chief executive in 2011.
She has now praised how great McElhenney and Reynolds are as people having watched the duo earn so many admirers since arriving in English football.
“They come across really well,” Carolyn told The Telegraph. “Very humble, and genuine. From what I see they are genuinely good people with good hearts. It’s a bit like Mansfield – the whole town is lifted when the football club does well.”
Wrexham vs Mansfield is massive
In what is billed to be a fascinating and nerve-jangling contest for both sides, whoever gets the first goal will feel confident of earning three points.
Wrexham, alongside Premier League giants Manchester City and Liverpool, are yet to lose a match after taking the lead, and Parkinson believes his players can feed off the atmosphere inside the ground.
“We are going to enjoy the atmosphere. It will be a special, Bank Holiday atmosphere and The Racecourse will be rocking like it always is,” Parkinson said.
Nonetheless, games of this magnitude at any level don’t come much bigger and Wrexham will hope to be on the right end of the result to keep their title hopes alive.
