Wrexham picked up their first League Two win of the season as they beat Walsall 4-2 in an excellent victory, but there was a notable absentee in James McClean.
McClean joined this summer from Wigan Athletic, in what was a major coup for Wrexham, but the Northern Ireland hero was absent for the squad in the victory over Walsall, having made his debut against AFC Wimbledon at the weekend.
Manager Phil Parkinson has now confirmed to The Leader that McClean picked up an injury against Wimbledon, but it is not one that should keep him out for too long.
“McClean, in the block tackle towards the end of the game against Wimbledon, opened his knee up a bit so he had to have a scan on Sunday,” Parkinson stated.
“It is not serious but it is going to keep him out a couple of weeks.”
McClean’s slow start
The 34-year-old arrived as another high-profile signing for Wrexham, but has had a far from ideal start to life at Phil Parkinson’s side.
His debut against Wimbledon came in a 1-1 draw where he was quiet, having made less touches than any other outfield player on the pitch as per FOTMOB.
McClean’s delivery was poor throughout the game, and he will now have to watch from the sidelines as he spends the next few weeks absent with an injury.

It has been a frustrating start for him, but once he returns from his injury he will be confident that he can justify the hype surrounding his arrival in League Two, as a Premier League veteran who was in the Championship last season.
He has played for the likes of Stoke, Wigan, Sunderland and West Brom, alongside goalkeeper Ben Foster, but despite his age, there was some surprise when he dropped down a division to join Wrexham from Wigan, and fans will now hope he can begin to show his quality.
