On a recent episode of Welcome to Wrexham, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney shared a Notts County fans group’s hilarious response to being asked to appear in the Disney+ documentary.

Wrexham‘s exhilarating 3-2 win over Notts County last season will go down in National League folklore. The two title rivals kicked off the game both on 100 points as they vied for the only automatic promotion place up to League Two.

What transpired was a game for the ages, as former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster, who had come out of retirement to help the Reds in their playoff push, made a stoppage-time penalty save. The veteran keeper saved Cedwyn Scott’s spot-kick six minutes into stoppage time to clinch a pivotal three points for the Dragons and all but ensure their automatic promotion.

It’s fair to say there’s no love lost between the two clubs, which is no clearer than a Notts County supporters group’s response to being asked on to Disney+ documentary Welcome to Wrexham.

In the latest episode of the docuseries, Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney share a hilarious text from a Magpies fans group after Disney asked them to feature in an episode.

Rob and Ryan explained: “The producers sent the sweetest, ‘Hey we would like to interview Notts, you guys are having an amazing season.’

“And the response is so good. It’s so great.”

The supporters group responded: “‘No you can shove your s*** documentary up your a***.'”

Rob took it in good faith though, saying: “I loved it.”

The clip has been doing the rounds on social media and can be seen here.

‘Whoever penned that reply should gain immediate entry to the Notts Hall of Fame’

Fans of all clubs were enjoying the exchange. One person wrote: ‘That’s class tbf, funniest account on twitter this. Given me a right giggle last season and a bit.

‘Does… does this make you a Disney villain?’ another joked.

‘Whoever penned that reply should gain immediate entry to the Notts Hall of Fame,’ a third added.

Wrexham ultimately had the last laugh as they won the National League title with a record 111 points. County were also promoted after beating Chesterfield 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the National League playoff final.

The Magpies are also currently top of League Two with 20 points while Wrexham are seventh with 15 points.
