Ollie Palmer points to the mentality of the Swindon Town team as key
The experienced striker has now registered his second league goal for Swindon Town since joining from Wrexham.
Palmer appears to be enjoying life in his new surroundings as he attempts to secure four straight promotions as his current club battles at the top of League Two.
Speaking after his winner for Swindon against Newport County, he explained how they were able to secure the victory in conversation with the Swindon Advertiser.

He said: “It is football, isn’t it? You have always got to be ready, and you have always got to be prepared.
“We have got a good squad here, so if you are not preparing right, then you are doing something wrong. It didn’t make too much difference to me.
“It is football; you need to prepare, and we were already preparing last week, so there were no changes for me mentally whatsoever.”
Ollie Palmer is excited by the early form of Swindon Town
Swindon Town currently sit second in League Two, just one point behind Walsall, with the club aiming to secure promotion.
The club are a long way from their dizzy heights of competing in the Premier League in the 1990s and may know that this is an unrealistic expectation at present; however, they will want to push to battle to climb the English pyramid, and Palmer can feel this at the club.

He said: “The main thing here was that we got the three points, and it is another positive that we have come to a really tough place; this is notoriously a tough place to come, and we kept a clean sheet.
“Newport do score goals; I know they are not at the right end of the table, but they do score goals, and we managed to keep a clean sheet today.
“We are in a good place, but it is still early, and it is not always going to be plain sailing. There are going to be some bad days and some good days, but as long as we are in this together and keep growing, we will, hopefully, be in the right place at the end of the season.”
