Wrexham are back in League One action on Thursday evening, taking on rivals Shrewsbury Town.
After their EFL Trophy meeting with Port Vale was postponed and they were knocked out of the FA Cup, the Red Dragons have been given a 12-day break.
As a result, they should be raring to go once they kick off against old foes Shrewsbury Town in midweek.
Wrexham beat Shrewsbury 3-0 in their previous meeting earlier in 2024/25 thanks to goals from Ollie Palmer, Jack Marriott and Elliot Lee.
Another win on January 16th could see Phil Parkinson’s side climb back into the automatic promotion places ahead of Wycombe Wanders, who they are currently only behind via goal difference.
Ahead of the game, Ollie Rathbone has been speaking to the media and is in complete agreement with Ryan Barnett about one thing.

Ollie Rathbone in complete agreement with Ryan Barnett
Wrexham were predicted to finish 20th in League One by Opta before a ball had been kicked in 2024/25.
However, the club have completely smashed those expectations out of the park this season and are well on course to clinch a play-off spot, at the very least.
Now, Rathbone has been discussing Wrexham’s campaign so far and when doing so, was in complete agreement with Ryan Barnett about the squad’s ceiling, as per Leader Live.
He said: “Ryan Barnett said that we’ve not reached our ceiling yet and I couldn’t agree more.
“I think we can go up another level and hopefully that’ll come in the second-half of the season.
“We are in great form and it’s not a flash in the pan where we are because we are over half way through the season. We are here on merit and we are hoping to stay there.”
Ollie Rathbone verdict on his Wrexham form
The Welsh outfit paid a then-club record £500,000 to sign the midfielder from Rotherham United in August 2024.
He had a slow start to life in Wales and wasn’t playing great, or often, but Rathbone’s recent Wrexham form has been superb.
Now, in the same interview, the 28-year-old has shared his thoughts on how he has developed since moving to the Racecourse.
He said: “When I first came back into the team, probably 10 games ago now, I said it would be important to get a run of games to get a run of form, and that’s proved to be the case.
“It improves your confidence and your belief in everything so I think it has been very beneficial.”
