Wrexham are living the dream again in League Two – they’re having an absolutely phenomenal season.
Phil Parkinson‘s side sit comfortably fifth in the table on 23 points, well within the means of potential promotion spots – which has led to many thinking they could do the unthinkable.
The last league game was a notably very special one. Two extremely late goals from two substitutes Steven Fletcher and Jordan Davies gave Wrexham all three points at the Racecourse.
The late goals provided drama, excitement, and the element of history seriously repeating itself.

Wrexham love a ‘Hollywood’ script
A remarkable stat has shown that Wrexham have picked up where they left off last season with late goals and last-minute drama.
As per The Athletic, Parkinson’s side has scored 27 goals in League Two this season. Nine of them have come after the 80th minute. That is a whopping 33 per cent of their total.
This season is becoming similar to the last, with bucket loads of late drama – much to the dismay of Ryan Reynolds‘ heart.
It’s propelling Phil Parkinson up the division
Although unorthodox and leading to a lot of Welsh heartburn, it’s working wonders for the Red Dragons.
Of Wrexham’s 26 goals, six have changed the result of Wrexham’s games. If games this season ended after 80 minutes, they would be seven points worse off, on 16 rather than 23.
As the table currently stands, 16 points would only be enough for 15th place. Madness. A whole 10 places difference.
Now don’t get us wrong, it’d be a lot better if games were killed off early, but this fighting spirit until the very end is working wonders for Wrexham at the moment.
They love a Hollywood script. Let’s hope the writers intend to add promotion into the text come the end of the grueling campaign.
