Wrexham striker Paul Mullin has revealed his next big aim after reaching his latest milestone.
Wrexham secured a handsome 4-0 victory over Accrington Stanley on Saturday as Paul Mullin scored a first-half hat-trick.
The 29-year-old scored for the second game running after going eight games without a goal for the Reds – his longest-barren run since arriving at the club in the summer of 2021.
Mullin’s goal drought serves as a reminder that he is actually human as it isn’t often he goes long spells without scoring.
In the National League last term, he scored a whopping 38 goals to fire Phil Parkinson’s men to the title and has continued finding the back of the net in League Two.
Mullin has netted 14 goals in 27 games, however, those have been spread across just nine games, including two hat-tricks.
As a result of his incredible form in front of goal, Mullin is closing in on the records of some of Wrexham’s greatest-ever strikers.
His hat-trick on Saturday took his total to 95 goals in just 129 appearances, placing him 10th in the all-time standings.
While many players would be driven towards breaking records, Mullin wants to focus on winning and smashing the aims he sets himself.

Mullin was sidelined at the start of the campaign because of a punctured lung he suffered in pre-season.
As a result, the striker didn’t get off the mark till September, scoring his first goal at the end of that month in a 3-3 draw against Crewe Alexandra.
With 16 goals to his name in all competitions, the Liverpool-born forward is happy with those numbers but craves more and has set his sights on breaking last year’s total of 47 goals, despite how unachievable it may seem.
“It’s not bad after missing 10 games at the start of the season,” Mullin told BBC Sport. “I always want to do better. I did 47 [goals] last year. It’ll be tough to beat that, but that’s still the aim.”
No matter how unrealistic breaking that total is, it strives the forward on to play his best football and we’ve seen that in the past two matches.
He came up clutch moment in the match against Forest Green Rovers, securing a last-minute point with a calmly taken penalty before smashing three past Accrington.
Mullin rekindled his partnership with Ollie Palmer last time out and it proved to be a decisive factor in the contest.
During their days dismantling National League defences, Palmer helped get the best out of his striker as the pair scored a staggering 56 goals between them.
Now, Parkinson has to keep playing the duo together as it appears they get the best out of each other and that could be the recipe for success in the promotion race.
