Wrexham have had a meteoric rise as a football club over the last four years from struggling in the National League to fighting for League One promotion.
Owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the club in February 2021 and their ultimate goal is to take Wrexham to the Premier League.
A lot has changed at the club, including the introduction of manager Phil Parkinson, who took over from Dean Keats in the summer of 2021.
Only three players remain from when Reynolds and McElhenney took over with a new-look Wrexham first-team squad trying to take the club up the leagues and into the promised land of the Premier League.
A player bought in the first transfer window under the new Wrexham owners was Paul Mullin and his goals have been key in taking the Red Dragons to two promotions.

Paul Mullin reveals how ‘life has changed’ since joining Wrexham
Speaking to SkySports EFL Editor Simeon Gholam, Wrexham striker Mullin has been speaking about the release of his new book and how his life has changed since playing at the Racecourse Ground.
Mullin stated: “It was sort of therapy whilst I was writing it. After when it came out it was obviously really well received.”
He also explained: “My life has changed quite a lot over the last three years and I’ve sort of gone with it and rolled with it.”
Wrexham’s whirlwind rise to fame mirrors that of Mullin and he revealed what happened when he received his first print copy of his book.
The striker stated: “I think I got the book and I gave it to my Mum, she went up the road back to her house and went and read it. It’s something that as I get older I’m sure I’ll look back on with real pride.”
Paul Mullin’s goals have been vital in Wrexham’s rise
Mullin’s goals have been a huge factor in Wrexham climbing through the divisions and into League One. The striker signed from Cambridge United in 2021 and has not looked back since.
| Paul Mullin’s Wrexham career | Goals scored |
| Season 21/22 | 28 |
| Season 22/23 | 46 |
| Season 23/24 | 26 |
| Season 24/25 | 4 |
Whilst Mullin has struggled for goals at League One level this season, his influence on the team cannot be denied with his leadership and experience a big factor in Wrexham doing so well.
Fans will be hoping he can continue to lead the club with such pride and ambition as they move towards their Premier League dream – starting with local rivals Shrewsbury Town in their next encounter.
