Paul Mullin was the undoubted hero of Wrexham’s National League campaign last season. The Red Dragons won the league with a record 111 points, with Mullin scoring 38 goals en route to helping Wrexham lift the title. Mullin was also the FA Cup top goal scorer with nine goals, and was named in the FA Cup Team of the season alongside the likes of Manchester United’s Casemiro and ex Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez. Paul Mullin shares exciting details about his new autobiography

It’s been a remarkable journey for the 28-year-old from Litherland, Merseyside. He is a product of the Everton, Liverpool and Huddersfield Town academies, and has played for the likes of Morecambe, Swindon Town, Tranmere Rovers, and Cambridge United before joining Wrexham in 2021.

Mullin’s sack load of goals after taking a downwards move to the National League have catapulted Wrexham up the football pyramid. He has become a fan favourite, helped by his appearance in the Disney+ Welcome to Wrexham series, and is even a household name overseas.

And now, Paul is telling is story in an upcoming autobiography called My Wrexham Story.

On Twitter, Mullin shared the cover of his new book, along with the release date, 23 November, 2023. He also revealed there was a limited number of signed copies available to order:

Wrexham co-owner’s Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney also gave the book a glowing endorsement, with their reviews featuring on the front cover.

Reynolds called it “the best book I’ve ever read” and Mullin a “hero” while McElhenney called Mullin “one of the greatest footballers in the world.”

He is currently injured but the latest update is promising

Mullin has unfortunately missed the start of the new League Two season after puncturing his lung in a pre-season game against Manchester United in the US.

Speaking with The Athletic recently, Mullin recalled the incident that occurred at the Snapdragon Stadium.

“I was trying to breathe in but nothing was happening,” Mullin began. “I couldn’t get air into my lungs. That’s when I knew it was bad.

“In that struggle for breath, with my lips turning blue, I accepted that this could be it for me. That’s how it felt. I couldn’t breathe properly for a few minutes.

“I was thinking about my little boy, Albi. I hate being away from him and my partner Molly for too long but I had told myself it was only two weeks and that I’d be back home soon.

“It ended up being much longer, but I’m so thankful it wasn’t worse.”

However, the good news is that manager Phil Parkinson has revealed he expects to have his star striker back “within weeks not months”.

“We’ve had great news about Mulls the other day,” Parkinson said before Tuesday’s win over Walsall.

“The specialist is really happy, in particular with the punctured lung. There were no complications, which is always a fear.

“We didn’t know that until yesterday [Monday] so he’s going to be back in weeks rather than months. That’s really good for us.”

We can’t wait to have him back.
