Phil Parkinson is set to lead his Wrexham side to Staffordshire to face Stoke City this weekend in the Championship.
The Red Dragons manager will look to continue the unbeaten run of four games in the second tier, stretching back to their 3-2 victory over Norwich City.
Wrexham have not beaten Stoke in 26 years, with the Welsh club only managing this one victory in their entire history over the Potters, spanning across 17 matches in the league and the domestic cup competitions.

This is a terrible record for the club owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac and their current manager does not have a great history when coming up against this weekend’s opponents.
Phil Parkinson has never beaten Stoke City
The Red Dragons boss has never secured a win against the Potters across his entire managerial career, according to Transfermarkt.
Parkinson may consider a tactical alteration for Wrexham to secure a victory over Stoke this weekend, despite his current tactical shape working across the last four Championship fixtures.
| Date | Fixture | Result | Competition |
| 29 December 2018 | Bolton Wanderers vs Stoke City | 0-0 | Championship |
| 2 October 2018 | Stoke City vs Bolton Wanderers | 2-0 | Championship |
| 18 November 2006 | Hull City vs Stoke City | 0-2 | Championship |
He has only ever faced the Staffordshire team on three occasions, all three coming in the second tier, with the Welsh club’s gaffer losing in two of these fixtures and then securing a draw in the other while in charge of both Bolton Wanderers and Hull City.
Worryingly for Parkinson ahead of this weekend’s clash is that he has never seen his team score a goal against Stoke; however, his Wrexham side have currently scored in every Championship fixture so far this campaign, meaning there will be confidence he can break this poor run against the Potters.
Phil Parkinson’s record against Mark Robins
The pair of managers have faced off against each other on eight occasions with nothing to split them, as their records are identical regarding results, according to Transfermarkt.
Both Parkinson and Robins have won two matches each while drawing on four occasions across the various clubs they have managed.
In their first ever fixture against each other, Robins would come out on top as Huddersfield Town beat Bradford City 2-1.
Meanwhile, in the most recent clash between the pair, Parkinson emerged victorious as Wrexham beat Coventry City 4-3 in the FA Cup in January 2023.
All eyes will be on the fixture this weekend, as one of the managers could improve their record over the other and hold the bragging rights going into the return fixture later this campaign.
