Phil Parkinson has come in for high praise from a Championship pundit this week.
There have previously been suggestions made by pundits that Phil Parkinson is under pressure at Wrexham.
It came with the Red Dragons having only won one of their opening five matches in the Championship.
Before the latest gameweek, they sat 21st in the Championship table and could have ended the weekend in the relegation zone.
However, in what was one of their better performances this season, Wrexham beat Norwich City 3-2 on September 19.
Parkinson has now received praise from Sam Parkin for what he did for that clash.
Phil Parkinson changes helped Wrexham win
Prior to Norwich, Wrexham were dispatched with ease by Queens Park Rangers at the Racecourse Ground.
After such a concerning loss, Parkinson opted to make several changes to his team on Saturday.
Conor Coady was dropped for Dom Hyam, James McClean was replaced on the left by Ryan Longman, Ben Sheaf came in for Matty James, Josh Windass returned after his injury and Issa Kabore started at right-wing-back.
Now, speaking to Benjamin Bloom, Championship expert Parkin has praised Wrexham and their manager after Norwich.
He said: “They [Norwich] look disjointed in comparison to Wrexham, who were very, very different to some of the more recent performances for their standards in a positive way.
“But they do the nuts and bolts of football really well, Wrexham, and that will not change. They know who they are, their identity. They know where their strength is.
“What Phil Parkinson did really well at the weekend, and I think you could rewind to our conversation, maybe last week or the week before. He’s rolled the dice. He’s recognized the weaknesses of the last few weeks. And he’s made multiple changes.”
One concern remains at Wrexham
It was a much-improved display from Wrexham at the weekend, with Kabore earning praise from Parkinson for his display.
Windass’ impact after recovering from injury will give the Dragons hope of competing more moving forward as well.
However, it was a nervy end to the game for the Welsh outfit after Arthur Okonkwo made an error that gifted Norwich a goal.
Okonkwo’s decision-making for their opening goal of the day wasn’t great either, and this is not the first time he has looked off his game in 2025.
With Danny Ward out, the ex-Arsenal man is expected to keep his place in the league, and Wrexham can’t afford for him to keep making errors over the next several months
