Wrexham sit third in the League One table but saw new leaders hit the summit over the weekend as Wycombe Wanderers continued their stunning start.

Saturday’s 1-0 win over Mansfield Town was the perfect response after losing 1-0 to Harrogate Town in the first round of the FA Cup.
Ryan Barnett’s goal was enough to beat the Stags as Rob McElhenney celebrated a ‘tough’ win over Nigel Clough’s side.
The result keeps Wrexham in third place in the League One table having enjoyed a strong start to the season.
Wrexham have won eight out of 14 League One games this season, drawing four and losing just two.
Phil Parkinson on Wycombe Wanderers rise
Wrexham can be proud of this start to the season and the promotion spots are within touching distance.
Phil Parkinson’s side sit two behind second-placed Birmingham City and four points adrift of leaders Wycombe Wanderers.
Big-spending Birmingham were always going to be in the promotion mix but Wycombe have been outstanding so far.
Wrexham beat the Chairboys on the opening day of the season, securing a 3-2 win over Matt Bloomfield’s side.
Wycombe then lost to Birmingham City but have dropped just four points from 12 games.
Deservedly top of the table, Wycombe are right up there with Birmingham and Wrexham with Phil Parkinson now offering his thoughts.
Parkinson has told BBC Sport that he doesn’t actually think that Wycombe have been a surprise package at all.
Parkinson feels that League One is very tough to predict right now but Wycombe have been in the Championship in recent memory and should be considered as a genuine promotion contender.
“It’s very difficult to predict,” said Parkinson. “Barnsley suddenly appearing in fourth, there’s teams all the way down in 14th when you look at them and think they could be up there.
“Some people are looking at Wycombe and thinking they’re a surprise package but they’re a team who were in the Championship not that long ago and are always up there in this division, so I’m not sure they’re a surprise.
“There’s so many teams that will be fancying their chances, but it’s still early in the season. We’ve just got to keep our heads down, concentrate on what we have to do,” he added.
Wycombe set to avoid major blow
Wrexham don’t face Wycombe again until March but will be keeping tabs on their results if they remain in the promotion mix.
The Chairboys are hoping to avoid a nightmare scenario right now with boss Bloomfield attracting interest.
Coventry City are keen on Bloomfield having sacked Mark Robins with his work at Wycombe attracting admiring glances.
Sky Sports now report that Coventry are focusing on a move for former Chelsea and Everton boss Frank Lampard, meaning a deal for Bloomfield now looks unlikely.
That is a huge boost for Wycombe but if they continue to challenge Wrexham in the promotion race, more and more clubs will show an interest.
