Wrexham manager, Phil Parkinson has opened up with plenty of praise for his supporters ahead of the Blackburn Rovers FA Cup clash.
This week sees Wrexham travel to face Championship side, Blackburn Rovers in a fourth-round FA Cup encounter.
After a win last time out against Shrewsbury Town saw the Reds draw an away tie against Rovers. Now Premier League side, Newcastle United await in the fifth round.
With thousands of Wrexham fans travelling down, Phil Parkinson has opened up and praised the fans for their support.
Parkinson praise for Wrexham fans
The Wrexham fans always travel in great numbers and the clash against Blackburn is certain to be no different.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Parkinson has opened up about the fans and the occasion of this FA Cup clash.
On the fans, he said: “You just have to talk to Wrexham supporters; if you talk about important games in the club’s history, the FA Cup comes up. Tuesday nights away up and down the county, we have sold out time and time again and this is a night for our supporters to go and really enjoy.
“We have had some really tough games but got to this stage and what a great opportunity for us to go to Ewood Park with 7,000 fans behind us. What a great occasion that will be for our players and our supporters to be part of that.”
There is no doubt that no matter the result, the atmosphere and pride around the whole club is going to be superb.
Although the travelling fans will be hopeful of a positive result, they won’t begrudge the result as long as the effort is there. This could be in a similar fashion to the Sheffield United replay last campaign.
Reminiscing on Sheffield United clash
The defeat at Bramall Lane ended on a sour note as Billy Sharp and his antics were the main takeaways in the end.

However, the general performance was great and the Reds gave a great account of themselves. Considering the Blades went on to secure automatic promotion, pushing them so close was an achievement in itself.
Discussing that, Parkinson said: “We have done in the cup before, it is about going there and giving a good account of ourselves. The supporters who came across to Bramall Lane last year, that was an incredible night.
“We’d come so close in the home game and then going to Bramall Lane, everyone thought our chance had gone. Of course, we ended up going out but the manner of the way the lads played on that night and the support we had was an occasion to remember.”
Hopefully travelling to Ewood Park Wrexham can make more everlasting memories. Another iconic Parkinson performance could live long in the memory of all those travelling fans.
