Wrexham are delighted with their first summer acquisition but know their business is just getting started.
Wrexham confirmed the signing of Ryan Hardie from Plymouth Argyle following their relegation from the Championship.
Hardie is looking forward to playing at Wrexham and has highlighted Dan Scarr and Callum Burton as two players in particular having spent time with them at Home Park.
Phil Parkinson had Hardie on his radar back in the January window and has been discussing the first signing through the door at the Racecourse Ground.

Phil Parkinson hints at Wrexham struggles with Ryan Hardie comments
Speaking to the Leader, Parkinson is delighted with his new striker but may have just shown the first signs that he is wary about the challenge facing the Red Dragons next season.
The manager explained that part of the attraction of Hardie was his ability to score goals in struggling sides, something he will be hoping that Wrexham can avoid being.
Parkinson stated: “Ryan is a player with an interesting profile. He has scored goals in the last couple of years in the Championship in a team which has been in the bottom six most of the season.”
| Ryan Hardie’s record last season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Hardie | 40 | 12 | 3 |
Expectations surrounding the club have soared in recent years however, this could be a positive sign for fans that the manager is under no illusions how tough the challenge will be.
Arthur Okonkwo is preparing for the Championship by upping his training programme and the likes of Ollie Rathbone have already stated that they are ready for the step up in quality.
Phil Parkinson reveals how Wrexham signed Ryan Hardie
Hardie has joined the Red Dragons in a deal worth a reported £700k but Parkinson revealed that the club triggered a clause in the striker’s contract.
Parkinson explained: “We have looked at Ryan over the last year or so and I am really pleased to sign him, we have been working on it for a while and it is good business for us.
“There was a clause in there which enabled us to sign him and we decided to bring him into the club.”
Hardie’s arrival is bad news for Ollie Palmer as the forward options continue to grow for Parkinson and he may not be finished yet with interest in Cardiff’s Callum Robinson still alive.
Modou Faal is expected to go out on loan, whilst there remain huge doubts surrounding the future of club legend Paul Mullin as the boss continues to mould his 25-man squad.
