Wrexham manager, Phil Parkinson has been given an injury boost for their upcoming fixtures with Steven Fletcher and Ryan Barnett returning to training.
It has been a great season for Wrexham which currently sees them sitting pretty in the top three of League Two.
Having Phil Parkinson in charge has seen the Reds go from strength to strength in recent years. Moving from National League up to League Two has been done seamlessly.
With that being said, it hasn’t been done without any trouble. There have been plenty of injury concerns to be contended with in recent months.
Even in the past week, a suspension to George Evans has hampered the midfield conversation for upcoming fixtures.
With that being said, this week has now brought some good news to the Wrexham boss in the way of returning stars.

What has Phil Parkinson said about Steven Fletcher?
Steven Fletcher signed over the summer but had only managed to make one start and 10 appearances. This was before he suffered a long-term injury in October. In a similar vein, Ryan Barnett also hasn’t featured since October following injury.
With a derby vs Newport County coming up, the Reds have been handed a boost. This as the duo have made a return to training. Opening up to Leader Live, Parkinson has opened up about their return to the setup.
On that, he said: “Fletch [Steven Fletcher] and Barney [Ryan Barnett] have been back involved this week. We are just assessing them to see how the week progresses. But it is good to get them back on the training ground.”
Although neither would be guaranteed a start when they return to a matchday squad, they would improve the depth. Given the quality already available at The Racecourse, they will have to work hard to earn a start.
It has been made clear by Parkinson that Fletcher has been developing well following an injury early on in his Wrexham spell. This injury recovery has given him a chance to get back to fitness which he missed out on over the summer.
On that, Parkinson added: “The good thing for Fletch is when he joined us, he came in without a pre-season and this injury has allowed us an opportunity for the medical team to do a lot of fitness work with him. He has slotted back into training well in the first few days.”
Moving forward the Reds will be hopeful of maintaining their great form this season. The return of Fletcher and Barnett can only benefit them in the coming weeks and months.
