Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has discussed Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward’s brilliant integration into the squad.
As the 2025/26 Championship season looms, Wrexham are preparing whilst on their Australia and New Zealand tour.
Wrexham have already signed Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward from Plymouth Argyle and Leicester City, respectively, with the latter joining on a free after his deal with the Foxes drew to its conclusion.
Hardie has already impressed for Wrexham, giving many Red Dragons fans the assurance that they have a striker with a proven ability at Championship level, whilst Ward is expected to be a back-up shot-stopper to Arthur Okonkwo this season.
There are always expectations on new signings, especially in Wrexham’s case, because of the worldwide coverage they receive, but Red Dragons supporters will be assured after what Phil Parkinson has said about the new arrivals.

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson praises Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward after ‘great’ integration
In a recent sit-down interview with the club, Phil Parkinson has touched on Wrexham’s injury concerns, stating that Ollie Rathbone will be ‘in a boot for two weeks’ as he continues his recovery, whilst ‘Jack Marriott was unfortunately ill’ and has since had to have his appendix taken out.
Thankfully, Parkinson also handed Wrexham fans positive news with the whereabouts of new signings Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward.
Speaking to the club’s media, Parkinson said: “Yeah, good. On a tour like this, it’s great for new players to integrate with a squad, and Ryan and Dan have slotted in well.”
Hardie has already bagged his first goal for Wrexham after scoring in his second-half appearance vs Melbourne Victory in the pre-season opener.
Wrexham must ensure Ryan Hardie settles in well
After the departure of Paul Mullin and Steven Fletcher, Wrexham’s options in the forward line are lacking assured goalscoring threat. As a result, Wrexham brought in Ryan Hardie to plug that gap, and from what we have seen of him in pre-season so far, he has been top notch.
There will be plenty of expectations on Hardie’s shoulders, especially as one of the few players with recent Championship experience, and as a result, it is vital that Phil Parkinson continues to make sure that he settles into the squad.
It was massive for Wrexham to sign Hardie before the pre-season trip to give him that time amongst the squad. Hopefully Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac can continue to back Parkinson in the summer window to provide him with even more proven Championship talent.
