Wrexham left it late to defeat Wigan at the weekend, and Phil Parkinson has commended the fans at the Racecourse Ground for sticking by the team through thick and thin.
The win takes Wrexham back into the automatic promotion places in League One, although they have played a game more than third-placed Wycombe.
Next up is a tough game against Barnsley on New Year’s Day, and Phil Parkinson will be hoping his players can step up and put in a better performance than they did at the weekend.
Still, the Wrexham boss can take heart in the support his team have been getting from the fans at the Racecourse Ground, and Parkinson has openly celebrated those fans in his latest comments to the press.

Wrexham thrive on togetherness from top to bottom
As per The Leader, Parkinson showed his delight at the fact Wrexham ended the year with a win, but insisted his side have to improve going forward.
He said: “The last game of the calendar year, it was important for us that we showed all the qualities or as many as we possibly could that we have done over the year. You can’t always be your best but it is finding a way to win and we have been good at that, and we need to continue that.
“We found a way and we’ll look at reasons why we weren’t quite at our best but sometimes that bit of fatigue can make a difference.”
Parkinson then went on to praise the Wrexham fans for their continued support, and claimed everyone plays a huge part in the success the club has found, from the fans to the coaches, to the players.
He added: “The crowd were great again, they lifted us right to the end and that’s so important. This club is about the togetherness. That’s what’s brought us our success over the last few years.
“It’s about the passion, the togetherness of the players in the team, the ones not in the team. Every member of staff and every supporter who comes into the ground has got to play their part and they really helped the lads.”

Wrexham’s unbeaten home record can steer them to promotion
Those fans are obviously a massive contributing factor behind Wrexham’s rise through the Football League, and that unbeaten run at the Racecourse this season is massively important.
If Wrexham can keep up that momentum, there’s no reason they can’t achieve the impossible and claim their third successive promotion this season.
Steve Parkin outlined the ‘fine margins’ that will decide the promotion race in the New Year and beyond, and having consistent home form is the kind of thing that can make or break a season for any team.
Parkinson has played down promotion for Wrexham this year, but the way the Red Dragons are going right now, you’d be foolish to bet against them.
