Wrexhman manager, Phil Parkinson has provided an injury update on four Wrexham players before they play AFC Wimbledon this weekend.

Coming into the weekend, Wrexham will be looking to follow up their FA Cup heroics with a League Two win.

It has been a great campaign so far for Phil Parkinson’s side which has seen them rise to third in the league at the time of writing.

This hasn’t been without its issues as many Reds stars have suffered injuries and suspensions which have kept them out.

Stars like George Evans have been given red cards while others like Arthur Okonkwo have suffered longer-term injuries.

There have been many injuries that have hampered the Reds. Especially in their back line which has seen Max Cleworth feature recently.

With Aaron Hayden, Jordan Tunnicliffe and Eoghan O’Connell all out with their own problems, it has been a struggle. Parkinson has been discussing this trio in a recent interview with Leader Live.

On that, he said: “Aaron, Jordan and Eoghan are all getting close to coming back into full training which is great news for us.

“It has been unfortunate to lose players in the same position but they are all working hard on the training pitch and doing everything they can. The medical team are working extremely hard with them and hopefully, we will have some good news shortly.”

It will be great to have these three back as they look to return some squad depth to the back three at The Racecourse.

There is another man who is set to return to the fold and he is Ollie Palmer who has been missing for weeks now. This has coincided with the return of Steven Fletcher who has performed well in recent games.

On the striker, Parkinson added: “Ollie is closing in on a return as well. It’s a similar timeline with them all, they are getting there.

“Over the Christmas period, they were in all the time, they were all working hard while we were away at the weekend and making good progress. They are all closing in on a return.”

Considering the Reds’ form hasn’t dipped given the number of injuries is very impressive. With them soon to return, Wrexham are only going to get better.
