Wrexham made a host of changes to Phil Parkinson’s squad over the summer and a number of players are trying to impress out on loan.
Wrexham’s squad needed some tweaking after promotion from League Two.
Back-to-back promotions was an incredible achievement but Wrexham needed to strike some deals to bolster Phil Parkinson’s options.
Wrexham have now signed 11 players since winning promotion, including cash deals for Ollie Rathbone and Modou Faal.
A number of players were let go though as Ben Tozer moved on and Rob McElhenney’s favourite player Luke Young departed.
Wrexham also allowed a handful of players to leave on loan in order to play first-team football away from the STōK Cae Ras.

Phil Parkinson shares Jordan Davies verdict
Sam Dalby has been praised at Dundee United following his deadline day move and Billy Waters is getting back on track at Halifax Town.
Jake Bickerstaff’s move to Altrincham hasn’t exactly worked out and Jordan Davies has been sidelined at Grimsby Town.
Grimsby boss and former Wrexham defender David Artell celebrated signing the ‘terrific’ Davies from Wrexham on loan for the season.
Davies scored twice against Cheltenham Town in August and seemed poised for a big season with Grimsby.
However, Davies picked up an injury in his very next game against Notts County and hasn’t played since.
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has now told The Leader that he is pleased with Davies having welcomed him back to Wrexham for his rehabilitation.
Parkinson noted that Wrexham are watching Davies closely, praising his ‘outstanding’ display against Cheltenham.
Parkinson just wants to see Davies playing and thriving at Grimsby very soon as Wrexham weigh up his long-term future.
“Jordan did the first part of his rehab here until we got him back running and doing bits of football,” said Parkinson.
“Now he’s been passed back to Grimsby because he can start joining in with some training so he is back over there. Jordan is looking in good shape. He worked hard on his rehab.
“We are monitoring all the players out on loan and we hope Jordan can get back in and get some game time. He only played a couple of games before the injury but he had that one outstanding game where he scored two goals which we know Jordan can do.
“Unfortunately he got the bad injury against Notts County and we just hope between now and January, he gets some valuable minutes,” he added.
Wrexham and Jordan Davies face emotional decision
Davies will return to Wrexham in 2025 and his long-term future will be under the microscope.
The midfielder has Wrexham in his blood; born in Wrexham, raised in Wrexham, trained at Wrexham and returned to Wrexham after joining Brighton and Hove Albion.
Davies has racked up 37 goals in 142 appearances for Wrexham but found himself drifting out of the plans heading into this season.
Wrexham were happy to let Davies go out on loan for the season but his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
The harsh reality is that this Wrexham project is moving so rapidly that some players will naturally get left behind.
Davies may well be one of them and whilst leaving Wrexham would be an emotional step, it’s one he may have to take for the good of his career.
