Wrexham have enjoyed unprecedented success since the club’s takeover in 2021.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have transformed the club from languishing in the National League to embarking on a Championship adventure.

Phil Parkinson has managed over 1000 games and has been the experienced figure at the helm overseeing Wrexham’s rise both on and off the pitch.

Parkinson has brought in club legends such as Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer and will be looking to compete well in the second tier next season. Not a lot has gone wrong for the manager since his arrival but nobody is perfect…

Charlie Trafford named as Phil Parkinson’s worst Wrexham signing

Speaking on the latest episode of the ‘Rob.Ryan.Red’ podcast, journalists Rich Fay and Nathan Salt have named Charlie Trafford as Parkinson’s worst signing during his Wrexham career.

The Red Dragons boss has currently made 54 signings since arriving at the Racecourse Ground, with his latest being Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward this summer.

The journalists ranked his signing based on their impact at the club and former midfielder Trafford was ranked as the worst of the Parkinson era.

Salt stated: “The worst rated player and I think you [Fay] and I agreed on this Rich, unfortunately he’s not going to listen to the podcast so all is well but Charlie Trafford is officially, unanimously the worst signing of the Phil Parkinson era.”

Trafford was closely followed by Billy Waters and Josh Adam as players that failed to make the desired impact with the Red Dragons.

Charlie Trafford failed to make an appearance for Wrexham

Trafford arrived at Wrexham in October 2021 on a free transfer after leaving Scottish outfit Hamilton Academical.

He departed just three months later having failed to make a single appearance for the club under Parkinson and moved on Canadian side Cavalry FC.
