Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson claimed another victory on Saturday afternoon as he celebrated his 1000th game in management.
Wrexham were keen to hit back on Saturday afternoon as Peterborough United visited the STōK Cae Ras.
The New Year’s Day defeat at Barnsley was not the ideal start to 2025 but Wrexham had a chance to put it right against the Posh.
Phil Parkinson’s home record is truly brilliant and Wrexham added another win to his tally on Saturday.
Steven Fletcher scored yet another late winner, handing Wrexham a 1-0 win against Darren Ferguson’s side.
Ferguson rued losing to a ‘powerful’ Wrexham side as Parkinson made it three home league wins in a row.

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds message to Phil Parkinson
This was not only a crucial win after losing on New Year’s Day but a real celebratory moment for Parkinson.
Parkinson racked up his 1000th game in management on Saturday, placing him in rather esteemed company.
Parkinson has been in management for more than 20 years now, first taking charge of Colchester United in 2003.
Spells with Hull City, Charlton Athletic, Bradford City, Bolton Wanderers and Sunderland followed before Parkinson found his way to Wrexham.
Now in the Wrexham dugout for three-and-a-half years, Parkinson has brought immense success to Wrexham.
It’s one thing to have the Hollywood ownership but having a manager who can remain level-headed and block out the noise is so valuable.
Parkinson has done that brilliantly and is now chasing a third straight promotion, which will no doubt delight Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
McElhenney and Reynolds have now spoken to The Athletic about Parkinson, offering a brief message praising the boss.
“Football is lucky to have him and his impact on Wrexham is already legend,” said the Hollywood duo.
Wrexham fans would certainly agree with that sentiment and long may his reign at the STōK Cae Ras continue.
Shaun Harvey on Phil Parkinson
Wrexham have put together a video of messages from a number of figures in the game, including some who previously played under Parkinson, such as Chris Iwelumo, Rory McArdle and Luke Young.
There was also a message from Wrexham director Shaun Harvey, who praised Parkinson.
Harvey suggested that Parkinson took the biggest risk of his career by dropping into non-league with Wrexham.
The decision has paid off for all involved but Harvey urged Parkinson to accept the praise coming his way rather than focusing on praising everybody else around him.
“Phil Parkinson took the biggest gamble of his managerial career coming to Wrexham,” said Harvey.
“If he was stood here, he would tell you he couldn’t have done it without the players, and he’s right, and equally, the players couldn’t have done it without him.
“It is time for Phil to actually take the plaudits for once, rather than pass them on to everybody else,” he added.
Parkinson’s appointment has been a masterstroke for Wrexham and the club’s process under him shows no sign of slowing down.
