Wrexham endured a torrid evening at the Racecourse Ground for once as they were beaten 3-2 by Stevenage in League One.
The 3-2 scoreline flattered Phil Parkinson’s side in all fairness as Wrexham fans begin to worry about even making the playoffs.
There were lots of alarming incidents during the game, Stevenage had the worst attack away from home in the EFL going into the game but cut open Wrexham with ease in the first half especially.
Parkinson criticised his side’s defensive desire during the game but many believe that once again the problem was at the top end of the pitch, in particular the front two picked by the manager.

Phil Parkinson needs to be more ‘proactive’ and change his forward line
Speaking on the Rob. Ryan. Red podcast, journalist and Wrexham expert Rich Fay has slammed the continued selection of Ollie Palmer and Elliot Lee as Wrexham’s front two and asked Parkinson to not use the combination again.
Fay stated: “You have to be proactive. You have to go for it from the start. And it’s all right for Phil Parkinson to come out after the game and then say some of these players didn’t want it. Well, Parky you chose the players.”
Fay continued by stating: “Then you look at the strike force, Well, it’s not a strike force. I would have concerns about Ollie Palmer and Elliot Lee as a strike partnership in the National League. I wouldn’t back them to win us a game two, three seasons ago.”
Wrexham failed to have a single shot on target in the first half before Paul Mullin and Steven Fletcher were introduced at half time.
Parkinson desperate to find the right formula for Wrexham’s attack
Wrexham need to find the right balance in attack in order to unlock more creativity and goals in the side. Parkinson has a wealth of forward options to choose from.
The Red Dragons also hold interest in Sam Smith from Reading and Michael Smith from Sheffield Wednesday in a bid to bolster their options.

Mullin did score for the first time in six games during the second half and looking ahead to Crawley, many feel that Parkinson needs to include the 30-year-old back in the starting eleven.
It will be interesting to see whether there is a change in personnel or even formation ahead of the crucial trip to Crawley where three points are a must.
