Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney can do no wrong right now, and their latest investment has really impressed supporters.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have gone from owning a non-league club to owning a Championship club, in the space of just four years.

Wrexham finished 2nd in League One and earned a third-straight promotion under manager Phil Parkinson, with a busy summer transfer window lying ahead too.

In preparation for the Championship, the club has now begun work on a new state-of-the-art pitch too.

Wrexham installing new pitch ahead of 2025/26 Championship campaign

Wrexham have completely torn up the old pitch and the old irrigation system to make space for all-new everything. Per the club: “Undersoil heating will be installed, alongside new irrigation and drainage systems.”

The pitch will also be used for FAW fixtures and it’s also being made capable of hosting rugby matches in the future too.

And in yet more savvy marketing ploys by the club, there are LED boards being installed in front of the Kop End, Wrexham Lager, and STōK Cold Brew Coffee Stands.

What Wrexham fans are saying about the new pitch

Fans on X have had plenty to say about the news. “Proud to be a fan of this club,” said one supporter, as another added: “Still wondering how on earth this all happened!”

There was also plenty of reaction on YouTube to the above video of the ground work. “I am just amazed at how much work is accomplished each day,” said this Wrexham supporter. “It is fascinating to watch.”

“The Stok Cae Ras will become a national treasure in Cymru,” added another fan. “Cant wait to come back in 2027 when hopefully the new stand will be complete,” said this fan.

Another Wrexham supporter said: “Damn, these fields are about as well designed as a Roman road. Amazing. Well done Wrexham.”

With a new pitch and new players set to arrive, the coming months will be very exciting for fans.
