Wrexham currently hold the top spot in the whole 92 for most goals scored at home, could this help fire the Reds to back-to-back promotions?

Following promotion from the National League, Wrexham fans couldn’t have believed the start to life in League Two they would have.

Under the stewardship of Phil Parkinson, the Reds have gone from strength to strength, currently sitting in second place in the league.

On the road, the Reds have accrued 13 points while scoring just seven goals. With that being said their overall form has been great, especially given their league position.

There have been some struggles away from The Racecourse with defeats to Stockport County and Accrington Stanley. The prior was a heavy 5-0 loss but wasn’t allowed to have an impact on the campaign.

It must be said that these have been the only league defeats away from home and the other games have seen plenty of wins. None more important than the 2-0 victory over fellow promoted side, Notts County.

What has been said about Wrexham’s home form?

On the flip side of their away form, Wrexham’s performances have been nothing short of top-class. 23 of their 36 points have come at home, representing 64% of the overall total.

In this time the Reds have amassed 33 goals at The Racecourse which is 26 more than they’ve managed on the road. This was helped by the superb 6-0 win over Morecambe this week, including a Paul Mullin hattrick.

According to Leader Live, this makes Wrexham the best-scoring home side in the whole 92. On that, they said: “Phil Parkinson’s side have scored more league goals at home than any other team in the top four tiers.

“That is eight more than Ipswich Town who are second in the list with 25 strikes in the Championship at Portman Road. Aston Villa, Bolton, Swindon and Notts County are next in the list with 23 league goals on their own territory.”

One thing that helps to fire the best sides to promotion is top home form and it is safe to say Wrexham have that. The Racecourse was a fortress in the National League but this has followed suit in the next division up.

With back-to-back promotions in their sights, Parkinson’s Reds will need to continue their home and away form to keep that dream intact.
