Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have offered their reaction to a Welcome to Wrexham video that features Dolly Parton.
It is no secret that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have transformed Wrexham into a global force since completing their takeover in February 2021.
That has been accelerated largely by the success of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary as thousands of more people across the world are now taking notice of the Welsh side.
The documentary, which follows the Hollywood superstars throughout their journey as owners, has raked in a reported £430,000 per episode – and that was a figure taken at the start of 2023.
It’s likely to be much higher now while the number of supporters watching from America has significantly increased, with Shaun Harvey claiming 5,000 US households tuned in to watch Wrexham’s iFollow coverage.
The documentary has clearly been a resounding success, and it has piqued the interest of some global superstars.

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds react as Dolly Parton features in Welcome to Wrexham video
McElhenney and Reynolds involvement in Wrexham has seen talk of NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce coming to watch a match soon alongside pop star Taylor Swift.
They aren’t the only celebrities getting involved with the Wrexham hype as famous singer Dolly Parton – known globally for pioneering the interface between country and pop music styles – has just featured in a Welcome to Wrexham video.
The 78-year-old is seen advertising the documentary and in one line of the video she referred to Reynolds as the “other guy” while many fans have labelled the collaboration as “iconic”, as they never thought it would happen in a million years.
Reacting to the video via X, Reynolds said: “She’s an international treasure. @dollyparton @WrexhamFX.”
McElhenney also responded to the tweet, saying: “Forget Vegas. We’re going to Dollywood. @WrexhamFX.”
Wrexham’s rise continues
To appeal to one of the most famous singers of all time just demonstrates the pulling power that McElhenney and Reynolds have at Wrexham.
They’re able to use their status as global superstars to attract a wider audience and perhaps even pull in more investment into the football club.
Their rise off the pitch has also contributed to success on it, with Phil Parkinson currently preparing his squad for their first campaign in League One for 19 years.
It feels as though eventually their progress on the pitch will slow down following back-to-back promotions however, that isn’t the case off the field, where McElhenney and Reynolds continue pushing the Reds to even greater heights.
