Wrexham have announced incredible financial progress under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, but the Hollywood duo are striving for more.
Wrexham continue to excel on and off the pitch as this incredible journey shows no sign of slowing down.
On the pitch, Wrexham sit second in League One and have a real chance to achieve the unthinkable – three promotions in a row.
Results off the pitch are impressive, too, with Wrexham posting record turnover for the 2023-24 season.
Wrexham’s sponsorship money has been astronomical, even putting some Championship clubs to shame.
Much of the current focus surrounds on-pitch results, but Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds have also made moves off the pitch.

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds on new Wrexham directors
Wrexham announced new investment from the Allyn family earlier this season and have now confirmed the appointment of four new directors to the Board of Directors at the STōK Cae Ras.
Caroline Hutchinson, Thayer Joyce, George Dewey and Ricky Engelberg have joined the Wrexham hierarchy with immediate effect following approval from the EFL.
The quartet join McElhenney, Reynolds, Kaleen Allyn, Humphrey Ker and Shaun Harvey on Wrexham’s Board of Directors.
McElhenney and Reynolds have shared their reaction, noting that Hutchinson, Joyce, Dewey and Engelberg have already been working on Wrexham’s success behind the scenes.
Now confirmed in official roles as directors, McElhenney and Reynolds just want them to carry on their great work and help Wrexham continue progressing.
“Our four new directors are not new faces to people at Wrexham AFC or the town. They’ve already been working tirelessly to improve our fortunes on and off the pitch and we welcome them as official board directors while shamelessly asking them to continue right on doing what they’re doing,” said a joint-statement from McElhenney and Reynolds on Wrexham’s official website.
Here are some brief profiles on Wrexham’s new directors as McElhenney and Reynolds continue to try and progress both on and off the pitch.
Caroline Hutchinson
Hutchinson has been serving as a ventures principal for McElhenney’s More Better Industries.
Wrexham games have been televised at Cosm in Los Angeles, with McElhenney crediting the idea to Hutchinson when speaking to the Sports Business Journal earlier this season.
Thayer Joyce
Joyce is another member of McElhenney’s More Better Industries and has been working as the Chief Operating Officer.
Joyce joined up with McElhenney in the summer of 2024 and will now play a key role in Wrexham’s progress moving forward.
George Dewey
Whilst Hutchinson and Joyce have ties to McElhenney, Dewey and Engelberg have worked with Reynolds.
Dewey co-founded Maximum Effort with Reynolds and has been involved in both Deadpool and Aviation Gin – two of Reynolds’ big projects.
Dewey has also been an executive producer on ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ and a number of Reynolds’ movies.
Ricky Engelberg
Engleberg previously worked with Vistaprint, who sponsored Wrexham’s shirts earlier in the McElhenney and Reynolds project.
Engelberg has more recently worked with Reynolds on Maximum Effort and has previously worked with Converse and Nike, so he arrives with experience with huge brands.
