Rob McElhenney has named the two NFL stars who will be coming to watch Wrexham soon.

Wrexham have enjoyed an incredible rise under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.

The Hollywood owners are sailing a ship towards success having reached League One for the first time since 2005 while achieving consecutive promotions for the first time in their history.

As a result of their global superstar status, people who aren’t naturally interested in football have taken notice of Wrexham.

This was further heightened by the Welcome to Wrexham series, which delves into their lives as owners and looks at the impact they’ve had on the town.

The Red Dragons have seen their social media following skyrocket and the number of new supporters now tuning in to watch the Welsh side, with Shaun Harvey revealing that 5,000 households in the United States watched Wrexham in League Two this season.

It’s a staggering number for a club playing in the fourth tier, but perhaps more staggering is the number of celebrities interested in their rise.

McElhenney and Reynolds are always looking at ways to take Wrexham to the next level, whether that is securing a lucrative brand deal or revealing their plans to build a 55,000-seater stadium.

The Hollywood superstars don’t want to rest on their laurels, with Reynolds claiming he’ll do whatever it takes to get the Reds into the Championship next season.

Their ambition is something to be commended and although it is helped by their global profiles, not many owners in the third or fourth tier could attract worldwide celebrities to their games.

Speaking on the Dan Patrick Show, McElhenney has revealed that he’s looking to bring NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce to a match very soon.

“I know for sure the Kelce brothers are coming out to a game,” he said.

Travis Kelce currently plays for Super Bowl winners Kansas City Chiefs while his brother, Jason, is a retired NFL centre after spending his entire 13-year career at the Philadelphia Eagles.

Wrexham are growing their global profile

McElhenney and Reynolds are very clever.

They know luring the Kelce brothers to a Wrexham game would attract a whole new audience of American supporters.

Not only would it help thousands, or perhaps millions of people recognise the Welsh side, but they would see their social media followers skyrocket even further.

The Hollywood stars have already seen their social media, particularly on Instagram, reach the size of most Premier League clubs.

Having Travis and Jason Kelce present at a game would only explode their popularity even further, and only bring positives to the town of Wrexham.
