Wrexham’s owners have held discussions over the future of manager Phil Parkinson even before the 3-1 defeat to QPR, Wrexham Insider understands.
Ryan Reynolds was in attendance for the clash at the Racecourse Ground and saw his side succumb to another home defeat in the Championship.
Parkinson’s side were not at the races defensively and the result has left the Red Dragons in the bottom four after five matches.
Wrexham’s owners have backed Parkinson in the transfer market this summer, however, their patience may be wearing thin after a difficult start to the campaign.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac considering Phil Parkinson’s future at Wrexham
Reynolds and Rob Mac have enjoyed untold success with Parkinson at the helm and will not be used to the defeats suffered at the start of the campaign.
However, Parkinson’s Championship record is not the best and the ambition at the club means that they will not stand for a season of struggles.
Wrexham want to be in the Premier League by 2027 and Wrexham Insider’s chief transfer expert Graeme Bailey understands that discussions have already taken place over Parkinson’s future.

Bailey stated: “I Am told that discussions within the hierarchy have taken place about whether they might need to make a decision on Phil Parkinson and that happened before this weekend.
“The club would be loathed to part company but they are at a level now where they can’t carry on like this. QPR was a six pointer and they were miles off it.”
Phil Parkinson could now suffer same ruthless Wrexham fate as he has handed out
Any decision to sack Parkinson would be deemed extremely harsh given the success he has brought the club, however, it would follow the ruthless nature at the club set by himself.
Parkinson’s ruthless actions have seen a number of notable departures of players this summer that have also been a huge part of the club’s journey.

Club legends Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer were given their marching orders from North Wales as they had completed their part of the progression.
Now the hierarchy may be about to decide the same regarding Parkinson’s managerial ability as they search for the ultimate Premier League dream.
