This week Wrexham released a statement regarding the temporary Kop Stand and some potential issues they are facing.
It has been a great season so far for Wrexham but it has so far been done in front of a reduced crowd at The Racecourse.
With the Kop Stand being demolished last season, there have only been three sides to the stadium for many months.
This hasn’t affected Phil Parkinson’s side as they currently sit third in the table in League Two. This comes following promotion from the National League last season. Now back-to-back promotions seem truly possible for the Reds.

Ever since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney came into the club things have been on the up. From promotion to looking to develop the stadium, they are doing their utmost for the club. This saw them last year move to build a new Kop which currently seems to have slowed down.
In saying that, there has been a temporary stand put into the ground which is set to remain there for the rest of the season.
What has been said about the Kop Stand?
This week has seen the club release a statement to their official website providing an update about the temporary stand. This points towards there being potential issues with the stand before this weekend’s clash with Newport.
On that, the statement said: “Wrexham AFC can confirm good progress is being made with the license application for the Temporary Stand and opening it on Saturday remains the realistic target, although there are still some hurdles to clear.
“If we are able to finalise everything, tickets for the game will be made available from Friday morning to Members Only. The stand will be used to 80% of capacity for the first game.”
It appears that there is still hope that the club can open the stand as soon as possible. With that being said, the game is just days away so hopefully, issues can resolve themselves quickly.
There are plenty of fans with high anticipation for the opening of the stand. It must be said that it will provide an extra 2,289 seats which will allow more supporters a chance to get tickets.
It must be said, the club are on the ball for the opening of the stand. On that, they finished of saying: “Further updates will be issued via our official club channels in due course.”
Given the derby clash against Newport County this weekend, there will be plenty of additional eyes on the game. Many fans will be looking to get to the game and watch live so the new Kop Stand will provide that chance.
