Wrexham co-owner, Ryan Reynolds has been thanked by a local business following him gifting ad time to them this week.
Ever since their purchase of Wrexham in 2020, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have used PR to their advantage plenty of times. This has helped see the club’s follower base grow over the last three years across the world.
This growth of the pitch has coincided with a direct improvement on the pitch. This is as Phil Parkinson has taken the Reds from National League mediocrity to League Two promotion contenders.
One thing that the Hollywood ownership has never forgotten is how to give back to the local community. This ranges from purchasing The Racecourse and building a new stand to things as simple as kind messages to former players.
With that being said it will come as no surprise to fans the random act of kindness that has been carried out.
What has been said about Ryan Reynolds?
Since coming into the club there has been an influx of new sponsors. From Ifor Williams Trailers to TikTok and Vista Print there has been a huge increase in the size of brands on board.
Another company involved with the Reds is Aviation Gin and in their most recent ad, Reynolds got involved. But not in the way you may expect.
In the ad, he said: “As co-chairman of Wrexham AFC, I am proud to support the entire city of Wrexham – that’s why I’m donating this Aviation Gin commercial time to a beloved local business.”
The Regent House of Flowers is a local florist in Wrexham and has seen its name go up in lights. There are very obvious nods to the Gin throughout the ad in a trademark Reynolds comedic fashion.
Although it is a rather silly and funny advert, the meaning behind it and the locality is what Wrexham fans love. It was clear to see, via Twitter, that the florist loved it too.
Regent Flowers said: “I cannot thank @VancityReynolds Enough for this opportunity, its been a hard 3 years for me personally, this whole experience helped put my spark back & determination to keep us here thank you from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful experience.”
Obviously, it meant a huge amount to the local business and is exactly why Reynolds and McElhenney have become so well-liked. These kinds of skits, also make a difference and they help promote the club and the city.
It is apparent that the duo are here to stay for a long time and with the great job they have done so far, there will be no complaints.
