Wrexham’s owners add to the intrigue whenever they are in town to watch a home game at the Racecourse Ground.

Ryan Reynolds was in attendance for Wrexham’s 3-0 victory over Burton Albion which saw Jack Marriott score his first goal since returning from a broken fibula earlier this season.

Sam Smith produced two moments of brilliance to help Phil Parkinson’s break through some stubborn resistance from Gary Bowyer’s side after they lost Charlie Webster to an early red card.

Anthony Forde was part of the Burton squad for the clash and since the game at the Racecourse Ground, Reynolds has shared a heartfelt message for the former Red Dragon.

Ryan Reynolds shares heartfelt message to Anthony Forde

Reynolds and Forde were reunited during the League One clash and the pair’s relationship is a strong one following the players time at the club.

Since the game, Reynolds has taken to his Instagram account to share his joy at saying Forde return to North Wales and ranks the win over Burton as one of his top five moments as Wrexham owner.

Forde entered the pitch with just over ten minutes left on the clock to a rousing reception from the home fans who remember his 58 appearances for the club with great fondness.

Perhaps his best moment in a Wrexham shirt came back in April 2023, when he was on the score sheet in a 3-0 win over Yeovil Town as the Red Dragons marched towards promotion back to the football league.

What Phil Parkinson said when Forde left Wrexham

Forde departed Wrexham in February 2025 following a mutual agreement with the club before joining struggling Burton Albion.

As per BBC Sport, Wrexham boss Parkinson was full of admiration for the Irish U21 international for his time at the Racecourse.

Parkinson stated: “I’d like to thank Fordey for his contributions since he’s been at club. He’s lived through a lot on and off the pitch during his time here, but he has been an outstanding professional and we really wish him all the best for the next stage of his career.”

As Forde focuses on his battle to keep Burton in League One, Parkinson’s attentions are firmly at the other end of the table as he looks to guide Wrexham away from the division.

A tough trip to Wigan is up next for the Red Dragons but they know that five wins will be enough no matter what to be playing the likes of Southampton in the Championship next season.
