Wrexham legend sends three word message to Paul Mullin amid exile from Phil Parkinson’s plans

Paul Mullin was excluded from Wrexham’s squad for the ninth consecutive time during the victory over Burton Albion.

Nathan Salt has advised Mullin to leave Wrexham in the summer before his career ‘dwindles’ as the 30-year-old striker still has a lot to offer the game.

Mullin has denied a rift with Phil Parkinson but his continued absence from the matchday squads has left fans both frustrated and baffled having had such an illustrious career at the Racecourse Ground.

As it stands, Mullin’s last kick for the club was a missed penalty during the EFL Trophy semi final defeat to Peterborough and one Wrexham legend has offered the striker more advice amid Parkinson’s exile.

Andy Morrell’s three word message to Paul Mullin

Former Wrexham fan favourite Andy Morrell has sent a three word message to Mullin in advice for the striker during his absence from the side.

Speaking to the Leader, Morrell has advised Mullin to ‘keep training hard’ and thinks he should take inspiration from team mate Jack Marriott who has fought his way back into contention after injury.

Morrell stated: “It will be very difficult for Paul Mullin. I wonder what he’s thinking at the moment because he’s not anywhere near it really,

“It’s been said that the door is open for him to get back in the team and you never know, Rodriguez goes down and another injury, you just don’t know who’s next in line.

“He’ll have to keep training hard and it’s so difficult to do that with your mentality but Jack Marriott has done it. He was out the team and has worked hard and got that little chance to get back in so you’ve just got to keep at it.”

Mullin won’t accept squad role like Jack Marriott

Marriott has accepted his role from bench from now until the end of the League One promotion have come on and scored in the 3-0 victory over Burton Albion.

Moving forward into the summer transfer window, it is unclear whether Marriott would accept that role going into next season, Mullin would certainly want to be playing regular football.

Mullin could be given a Wrexham lifeline should the club achieve promotion to the Championship with the squad increased to 25 players and up to nine substitutes allowed on match days.

After a full pre season the striker may be ready to force his way back into Parkinson’s thoughts however, it is unlikely the forward will accept a role from the bench like his team mate Marriott.
