Wrexham were beaten 3-2 by West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon as Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds watched on from the stands.

Wrexham’s first home game of the season tends to bring Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds into town.

The Hollywood duo understandably have to pick and choose their moments to head over to the STōK Cae Ras, but they were in attendance on Saturday.

Wrexham, unfortunately, fell to defeat against West Bromwich Albion, losing 3-2 against the Baggies.

Wrexham have started the season with two defeats in two Championship games, but Phil Parkinson shouldn’t be too concerned at this stage.

The combination of tough early opponents and bedding in a host of new signings means Wrexham were always at risk of a slow start.

Ryan Reynolds message to Wrexham fans

McElhenney and Reynolds certainly won’t be too worried, especially having witnessed a slow start in League Two – and then eventual promotion.

Any calls for Parkinson to go are outrageous at this early stage, and he will have the complete backing of McElhenney and Reynolds.

Reynolds has taken to Instagram to share a message with Wrexham fans, admitting that the 3-2 defeat wasn’t quite what he wanted.

However, Reynolds added that ‘there’s no place on earth’ quite like the STōK Cae Ras, sharing his love for Wrexham’s home.

‘Not the result we wanted, but there’s no place on earth like The STōK Cae Ras,’ said Reynolds.

Wrexham are at home once again next weekend, taking on Sheffield Wednesday in the third Championship game of the season.

The Owls have been through misery this summer, losing a number of players amid financial trouble at Hillsborough.

Wrexham will certainly look to kickstart the season with a home victory next weekend, with Reynolds and McElhenney watching from afar.

Ryan Reynolds posts messages alongside Ollie Palmer and Steven Fletcher

Reynolds also posted photos from the STōK Cae Ras, including shots with Wrexham strikers past and present.

The ‘Deadpool’ star posted one photo alongside Steven Fletcher, who was on punditry duty for ITV Sport on Saturday afternoon.

‘The one. The only.’ said Reynolds, as he welcomed the Scot back to the STōK Cae Ras.

Fletcher has noted that Reynolds took a liking to him at Wrexham, so their reunion on the pitch was a lovely moment for all.

Reynolds also posted a photo alongside Ollie Palmer, who wasn’t even on the bench for Wrexham against West Brom.

Palmer has been made available by Phil Parkinson and could leave Wrexham before the transfer deadline, so this may have been Reynolds’ last meeting with Palmer, for a while at least.
