Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively will be watching on as Wrexham look to secure promotion to the Championship on Saturday.

It’s very possible that by the time April 26 comes to a close, the Red Dragons will have made history with a historic third straight promotion.

For Wrexham to win promotion on Saturday, Wycombe Wanderers, currently third in League One, need to drop points against Leyton Orient.

The Red Dragons, who play later in the day, then need to see off Nathan Jones, Charlton Athletic, who are currently four points off second with two games to play.

A close meeting between Wrexham and Charlton is predicted, but the mood going into the game is a positive one.

Blake Lively message to Wrexham players ahead of Charlton Athletic

Rob McElhenney has no nerves about Charlton, sending a message out early in the day as he prepares to watch the game from the Racecourse.

As well as Rob, both Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, have spoken out prior to the 5:30pm UK time fixture getting underway.

Taking to her Instagram story this weekend, Blake Lively posted a picture of herself and Ryan accompanied by three words.

She wrote: “Let’s go boys,” while taking the official Wrexham Instagram account.

How promotion is making Ryan Reynolds feel

Earlier in the week, Reynolds spoke about Wrexham promotion and how it has been making him feel.

He said: “Oh my God! I literally have an eight-inch ulcer in my stomach right now. It’s the end of the season, and it all comes down to the next two weeks. They just can’t do it easily. For just one year, let’s do it without having receding hairlines all around.

“We’re all losing it and the stress is killing us all. Everyone keeps saying that [it makes for better TV] but that’s not a consolation at all – winning is.”

Wrexham are favourites to beat Charlton on April 26, while Wycombe are slight underdogs in their meeting with Leyton Orient earlier in the day.

Because of the staggered kick-off times, the Welsh outfit will already know if they can be promoted before they kick a ball on Saturday.
