Wrexham are still going strong in League One and that unsurprisingly means more and more fixtures being selected for prime TV coverage.
There is always going to be huge attention on Wrexham thanks to Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
This has been the case through the National League, League Two and now League One with Wrexham driving major interest.
Rival fans may not like the attention on Wrexham – Darren Bent even claims that some fans ‘hate’ Wrexham – but the influence of McElhenney and Reynolds will always drive viewing figures.
We saw Sky Sports devote an hour of build-up coverage ahead of Wrexham’s clash against Birmingham City in September.
McElhenney’s pre-match rivalry with Tom Brady added to the celebrity hype and we get to see it all over again in January.

Wrexham v Birmingham City decision emerges
Wrexham lost 3-1 at Birmingham in September, falling to defeat despite Jack Marriott handing Wrexham a 1-0 lead.
Big-spending Birmingham just had too much on the night but Wrexham will have another shot at beating the Blues in January.
Chris Davies brings his side to Wrexham early in 2025 and Phil Parkinson would no doubt love a big result.
The initial Wrexham fixture list release had the Birmingham game scheduled for Saturday, January 25 at 3pm.
Sky Sports have now confirmed their TV selections though and Wrexham v Birmingham is unsurprisingly being moved.
Wrexham have now confirmed that the clash with Birmingham will take place on January 23 instead, moving from a Saturday afternoon to a Thursday night at 8pm.
This probably won’t surprise many fans of League One clubs with Sky no doubt set to give the game a big billing once again.
More Wrexham fixtures moved for TV coverage
This is not the only Wrexham game being moved for Sky coverage.
Sky Sports have picked up four more Wrexham games from January 11 to February 23.
| New date | Opponent | New time (GMT) |
| Saturday Jan 11 | Reading (A) | 12:30PM |
| Thursday Jan 16 | Shrewsbury Town (A) | 8PM |
| Thursday Jan 23 | Birmingham City (H) | 8PM |
| Saturday Feb 15 | Northampton Town (A) | 12:30PM |
| Sunday Feb 23 | Mansfield Town (A) | 3PM |
Wrexham’s trips to Reading, Shrewsbury Town, Northampton Town and Mansfield Town have all been moved.
That means that, of the five games moved, only of them will take place at the STōK Cae Ras, with Wrexham’s away trips televised with regularity early in 2025.
