Wrexham and Birmingham City have garnered fanbases around the world thanks to their current owners.

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds took control of Wrexham from the club’s Supporters Trust in 2021.

Meanwhile, former NFL star Tom Brady now owns a share in fellow League One side, Birmingham City.

The two teams are battling it out at the top end of the third tier this season and are once again set to clash on Thursday.

Wrexham are predicted to beat Birmingham owing to their superb record at the Racecourse Ground, which sees them undefeated since March 2024.

However, the Blues have dominated League One this term and already put the Red Dragons to the sword in the reverse fixture back in September.

Despite being a League One fixture, fans around the world are expected to watch the action unfold this evening.

Could Wrexham vs Birmingham City be played in USA

Wrexham’s meeting with Birmingham will break a League One record, becoming the most-viewed match in English football’s third tier of all time.

Meanwhile, the game will screened in Los Angeles and Dallas on two immersive ‘shared reality’ domes.

The hype from American fans around the two sides has already led to suggestions the game could be played in America moving forward.

And when asked about this in September 2024, Birmingham City CEO Garry Cook was all for it.

He said: “Personally, I think that is a great idea. But I think the EFL wouldn’t see it that way and I think the history and the tradition of our sport and our league tries to ensure that that doesn’t happen.

“That doesn’t stop making it a global game even though you’re playing here in Birmingham and everybody’s looking forward to it, doesn’t mean to say it’s not going to be a big game.”

How American fans can watch Wrexham vs Birmingham City

For fans based in the UK, Wrexham vs Birmingham City will be broadcast live on Sky Sports League One, Sky Sports Football, and Sky Sports Main Event.

If you are US-based, however, you will be able to watch the meeting via Paramount+ and ESPN’s partnership.
