Wrexham need to beat Mansfield Town if they are to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive.
Wrexham travel to Mansfield Town on Sunday afternoon in what is a huge League One fixture.
After losing to Leyton Orient last time out, the Red Dragons are in danger of blowing their shot at a second-place finish.
They’ve already lost any real chance of catching Birmingham City – 11 points ahead with two games in hand – and could end this week eight adrift of Wycombe Wanderers if they lose to Mansfield.
Phil Parkinson’s side have won just three of their first eight League One fixtures in 2024/25.
However, Mansfield are in even worse form. They have lost four of their last five, making them the most out-of-form team in the third tier currently.

Wrexham unwanted record vs Mansfield Town
But history suggests that Wrexham will have a hard time coming away with three points when they travel to Field Mill.
Throughout the years, the Welsh outfit have beaten Mansfield 28 times – losing 31 and drawing 21 of the remaining fixtures.
That’s a pretty split record, even if slightly in favour of their opponents, but Wrexham have seriously struggled to get anything against The Stags when playing at their ground in the league.
In fact, Mansfield are unbeaten against the Red Dragons when playing at home in their last seven Football League games, last losing on home soil all the way back in 1984.
That fixture ended 3-4 to Wrexham and took place in the old fourth division.

Phil Parkinson comments on Wrexham recent away form
While the first half of 2024/25 saw Wrexham dominate at the Racecourse and underperform on the road, that has flipped in recent weeks.
Parkinson has lost back-to-back home matches for the first time ever, but their two most recent wins in the league have come when playing away.
As per Leader Live, the Wrexham boss has now commented on his team’s recent improvements on the road.
He said: “We went to Crawley and I was really pleased with how we started that game, and obviously the same at Northampton which was a really good performance.
“I was very pleased with those two wins. Every game is tough and you’ve got to be ready physically and I felt we were at Northampton to meet the challenge.
“We are going to have to be the same at Mansfield because they are probably feeling they’re getting drawn into the relegation pack and we’ve got to go there with the same mindset and mentality we’ve shown in previous weeks on our travels, and replicate the performance in those last couple of games.”
