Ahead of its release next week, fans have been treated to some exciting details about the first two episodes of Welcome to Wrexham Season 2.

Last season will live long in the memory of Wrexham fans. Bouncing back after a disappointing previous campaign, the Reds won the National League title with a record amount of points as they clinched promotion back to the Football League. Paul Mullin was on fire, Ben Foster displayed some truly impressive goalkeeping heroics, and the boys had a stellar FA Cup run as co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s love affair with the club continued.

Welcome to Wrexham is returning for a second season

Part of Wrexham’s global appeal in recent years has been as a result of the Disney+ series Welcome to Wrexham.

The fly on the wall documentary provided an intimate look at one of the oldest football club’s in the world, sharing an insight into what goes on at the club behind the scenes.

Of course, the first season of the show ended in disappointment as Grimsby knocked Wrexham out of the play-offs in the 2021/22 season. However, we know the new season, which airs on Wednesday, September 12, 2023, will (spoiler alert) end in much happier circumstances.

Welcome to Wrexham Season 2 episode teasers revealed ahead of release

Ahead of the release of the second season next week, fans have been given a taste of what to expect with the titles and a synopsis of episodes one and two.

Episode One: ‘Welcome Back to Wrexham’ – “A new football season begins as the town, the team and owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney prepare to welcome King Charles III.”

This is expected to be a round-up of what happened in the summer between the two league campaigns, culminating in King Charles III visiting the club in December.

Episode Two: ‘The Quiet Zone’ – “Wrexham striker Paul Mullin tackles challenges on and off the pitch; introducing Wrexham superfan Millie Tipping.”

It appears the second episode will focus on goalscoring talisman Paul Mullin’s charitable efforts in supporting Austim.

Per The Leader, the club has a sensory area in the stand – the quiet zone – and Mullin has been very active in promoting the charity YourSpace after his son Albi was diagnosed with Autism.
