Phil Parkinson has received an apology ahead of Wrexham’s latest League One outing on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Dragons return to action at the Racecourse Ground, looking to take one step closer to promotion.
Wrexham clash with Burton Albion at 12:30pm UK time, with rivals Wycombe Wanderers also in action.
Going into the weekend, it is Phil Parkinson’s men who sit second in League One, three points clear of Wycombe, despite being held to a 2-2 draw with Cambridge United earlier in the week.
George Dobson put Wrexham 1-0 up in that meeting, but Cambridge fired back with goals either side of the half, one of which was a penalty.

Referee sends apology after penalty call in Wrexham clash with Cambridge
Cambridge ace Ryan Loft went down inside the box after being adjudged to have come into contact with Lewis Brunt.
The referee on the day, Thomas Parsons, subsequently awarded a spot-kick, which was converted.
Parkinson was left furious at the penalty being awarded, saying post-match: “That penalty decision is one of the worst penalty decisions I’ve seen, similar to the Reading one, and to disallow the goal at the end is completely bizarre.”
Now, when speaking to the BBC, the Wrexham manager has confirmed he has received an apology from the referee, who admitted there was ‘no contact’.
“The referee has accepted there was no contact and has apologised. You’ve got to respect his honesty for that.
“He can’t go back and change his decision but at least he’s reflected, looked at it from the angles I was able to do straight after the game. We move on.
“Sometimes certain situations are out of our control, but I was pleased with the way we responded to that.”

Most penalties awarded in League One this season
Up until last month, Wrexham had been awarded just a single penalty in the 2024/25 campaign.
That came on December 26 versus Blackpool, with Steven Fletcher the scorer.
Jay Rodriguez has since stepped up to take two in March, converting one and scoring the rebound of another.
Wrexham’s three penalties this season means they currently rank 16th for the most spot-kicks awarded in League One in 2024/25.
Birmingham City top the list with 12, while Wycombe are second with nine.
