Wrexham are continuing to spend big this summer with a deal for Nathan Broadhead now near.
The Red Dragons have so far confirmed the addition of six senior players ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Lewis O’Brien was the latest arrival, but a move for Nathan Broadhead is now understood to be close.
It’s being reported that Wrexham will pay £7.5m for the forward and that his wages will be substantial.
In turn, fans are no doubt keen to get a better understanding of the player and what they can expect.
So, we have now rounded up what some of Broadhead’s managers have said about him throughout the years.
What the managers say about Nathan Broadhead
Broadhead brings with him Premier League and Championship experience, which will be key for Wrexham in the coming season.
He’s also enjoyed stints lower down the EFL, including with Wigan Athletic.
“He is a very good player, a great professional and I like him.
“We will assess the situation, as we will with all of the players in that situation,” – former Wigan boss Kolo Toure, 2023. (East Anglian Daily Times)
“Full credit to him. Every time he comes off the bench, he’s having a positive impact. It’s still another step to start a game, with the intensity that there is at the start of a game, but he’s working towards that.
“I think that, every time he’s coming on in different game states, he’s having a good impact at the moment,” Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna, 2024. (East Anglian Daily Times)
“He does it in training, even in the week we’ve seen him, he’s curled a few in like that and caught goalkeepers by surprise.
“It was a lovely goal. We were more impressed with the second one actually, to come from the position he was in and to be in the middle of the six-yard box, tapping it in.
“He’s going to get more goals like that. He’s quite graceful, the way he moves with and without the ball, and it was a great ball from Ryan Edwards,” former Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough, 2019. (Derbyshire Live)
“I thought he was fantastic, and as an ex-midfielder myself, you just love playing in a team with that kind of movement ahead of you. Not only that, he never loses heart when he doesn’t get the ball.
“He’s not one of those strikers who makes ten runs and then stops because the ball isn’t coming.
“He keeps on presenting himself, either to be put in behind or with the ball to feet,” former Sunderland coach Lee Johnson, 2021. (Chronicle Live).

Nathan Broadhead stats
Ipswich were competing in the Premier League last season, and Broadhead’s minutes were limited.
The 27-year-old played 18 times in the first division, scoring two goals in the process.
But he was largely used off the bench, only notching 697 minutes of action.
In the Championship, he has 18 goals and four assists in 60 outings for various teams.
