Wrexham have tasted mountains of success under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
The duo took charge of Wrexham back in February 2021, watching on as the club missed out on the play-offs during their first few months at the helm.
Their first full campaign as owners was more positive, with the Red Dragons finishing second in the National League. But they did go on to lose to Grimsby Town in the play-offs that season.
However, after 15 years stuck in the National League, Wrexham were finally promoted in 2022/23.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds were in attendance at the Racecourse Ground as the Welsh side earned a 3-1 win over Boreham Wood to confirm their promotion.

What Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney told Wrexham fans after promotion
Wrexham had spent the longest period of any club in the National League at that point.
As a result, fans were obviously excited at the prospect of finally returning to the EFL’s top-four tiers.
Now, speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week, Reynolds has shared what he and Rob told fans after beating Boreham Wood.
Supporters were eagerly awaiting their moment to invade the pitch and celebrate, but after a stadium announcement warned of potential arrests, they turned to their club’s owners, who gave the go-ahead for a pitch invasion.
Reynolds said: “He [Paul Rudd] got that shot of us just collapsing when everyone else went up.
“And then they all they all yell, you hear this announcement ‘do not storm the pitch, if you come onto the pitch you will be arrested’ and they’re [fans] all looking at the pitch, then they look over back at us, me and Rob, and we go ‘oh no, no, that’s ok’.
“And then everybody just like yeah, and it’s just it’s mayhem. I mean it’s the kind of ecstasy and joy that you can’t believe exists in this world right now that we live in.”
What Rob McElhenney said after Wrexham promotion
Interestingly, speaking at the time, McElhenney said he ‘blacked out’ and did not remember anyone running on the pitch, as per BBC Sport.
He stated: “It’s hard to put into words. I actually think I blacked out.
“I don’t remember anybody running onto the pitch. I don’t remember them being on the pitch so yeah, a bit of a blackout for us.
“So much of what we’re feeling isn’t so much to do with us winning, the club, it’s the town – you’re carrying the emotions of so many people in this town and it means so much to them.”
Another pitch invasion occurred in 2024/25 after Wrexham were promoted to the Championship on April 26, 2025.
They are now back in the second tier, with McElhenney hinting at going up once more next season.
