During a recent visit to the Wrexham dressing room, comedy actor Will Ferrell asked the players if they really like club owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The 2023 version of Wrexham have a disproportionate amount of glitz and glamour for a team in the fourth tier of English football.

That’s nearly all to do with their Hollywood owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, who bring a certain amount of stardust wherever they go.

Since taking over the club in 2020, the acting duo have brought along a number of A-listers to Wrexham games, from David Beckham to Hugh Jackman and Paul Rudd.

Will Ferrell is another huge celebrity name who seems to be on board the Wrexham bandwagon. The Anchorman actor has been spotted at several games in the past, and featured on a recent episode of Welcome to Wrexham – Disney+’s docuseries on the club.

In the latest episode, Ferrell goes into the Wrexham dressing room before a game to converse with the players. He also asks them if they actually like Rob and Ryan.

“Do you guys like Ryan and Rob or not really?” he said. “You can be honest,” he added.

The players looked rather sheepish as the camera pans to them, as they perhaps didn’t want to say too much about their employers.

Sensing the indifference, Ferrell went on: “Rob is good. Ryan? Dodgy Canadian…”

Elsewhere during his visit, Ferrell was filmed entering the club’s training room as a player was getting a leg massage. “That is a beefy thigh there,” Ferrell joked before asking a staff member across the room if he “needed a rub down.”

Will joked: “These are magic hands!
