Wrexham are taking another step forward next season having clinched promotion to the Championship last weekend.

The wild celebrations may be over but Wrexham fans will still be on top of the world right now.

Wrexham beat Charlton Athletic 3-0 on Saturday, securing promotion to the Championship in the process.

That is three promotions in a row for Wrexham, and Phil Parkinson will start preparing for life in the second tier once this weekend’s game against Lincoln City.

Reports already suggest that Wrexham will splash the cash this summer, potentially rivalling clubs being relegated from the Premier League.

An exciting summer is in the pipeline for Wrexham, with fans no doubt dreaming of a fourth straight promotion.

Wrexham shirt sponsorship deal with United Airlines under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds

Wrexham still have plenty of room for growth in the coming years.

Lewis Brunt feels the sky is the limit for Wrexham and we certainly agree with the defender.

Wrexham’s financial records have been impressive, posting enormous turnover for the 2023-24 season in League Two.

Commercial income was especially high for Wrexham, with Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’s master plan coming to the fore.

Wrexham don’t make any money directly from ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, but use the show to increase visibility and ramp up sponsorship deals.

Sky Sports now claim that Wrexham’s deal with United Airlines is worth in the region of £5million to £6million per year.

The report highlights that Burton Albion’s entire turnover is around a similar figure, so Wrexham raking in that cash just on shirt sponsorship is pretty remarkable.

It’s claimed that Wrexham’s sponsorship deal with United Airlines is ‘worth broadly as much’ as some Premier League sponsorship agreements.

That is truly incredible and a real sign of how McElhenney and Reynolds have struck gold with their model, prioritising sponsorship and worldwide visibility to grow the Wrexham project.

Premier League shirt sponsorship figures

Sporting Intelligence published data on Premier League sponsorship deals earlier this season.

The lowest deal was Ipswich Town’s deal with minority shareholder Ed Sheeran, with his front-of-shirt sponsorship worth just £4million.

Brentford are next on £6million with Hollywoodbets, with Nottingham Forest on £7million with Kaiyun.

Bournemouth’s deal with BJ88 is worth £7.5million, and Southampton were the only other club under £10million-a-year, earning around £8million-a-year from Rollbit.

Wrexham’s deal is certainly right in the mix; more than Ipswich, similar to Brentford and use below the likes of Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest.

We must also bear in mind that Wrexham are only just heading to the Championship.

Promotion to the second tier will surely see sponsorship increase and it may not be long before Wrexham push towards that £10million mark.

This is why we saw there is so much room to grow; the pull of McElhenney and Reynolds will always entice potential sponsors, and the huge values in the lower leagues suggest large valuations could be coming in the near future.
