Despite plying their trade in League Two, it has now emerged that Wrexham are top of one remarkable statistic across England’s top four divisions.
Unlike last season, Wrexham’s home and away from has been chalk and cheese.
At the Racecourse Ground, Phil Parkinson’s men are so difficult to beat and the Reds are top of the tree for the number of points accumulated at home in the fourth tier (38).
It’s a record that places them fourth across the top four divisions in England, trailing only Liverpool, Leeds United and Arsenal for points per game but level with the likes of Aston Villa and Manchester City (2.38).
While it’s impressive that the Reds are keeping elite company with their home record despite being promoted last season, their away form is way worse.
In League Two alone, they rank 10th in the league for points won on their travels (22) having lost six of their 18 matches.
After playing five away matches in February, Wrexham will welcome a home fixture against Accrington Stanley this afternoon with open arms and one statistic explains why.
Wrexham have scored more goals at home than Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool this season
The majority of Wrexham’s firepower gets unloaded at home with the likes of Elliot Lee and Paul Mullin running riot, particularly earlier on in the season.
At times, the Reds are capable of wreaking havoc in the final third having put four past Barrow, five past Swindon Town and six past Morecambe.
In front of their home supporters, Parkinson’s men like to entertain and their total of 44 goals scored is more than the likes of Manchester City (31), Arsenal (34) and Liverpool (37).
Of course, the Welsh side have played three games more than those elite teams but it doesn’t take away from the fact that Wrexham have scored more goals than any other side in England’s top four leagues.

Wrexham may have scored more goals than anyone at home, even the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, but their performances recently haven’t been good enough.
The Reds have only scored three goals at the Racecourse Ground in their last three matches and have struggled to rediscover their free-flowing form in front of goal.
And after losing 2-0 against Accrington Stanley in the reverse fixture, Wrexham must achieve revenge today and get their automatic promotion hopes back on track.
