Wrexham secured a record-breaking promotion to League One but that isn’t the only record that Phil Parkinson’s men are eyeing up.
A thrilling few seasons with Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds flying the flag at Wrexham continued on Saturday afternoon.
Phil Parkinson‘s sealed promotion in style by thrashing Forest Green Rovers 6-0, and achieving back-to-back promotions for the first time in their 159-year history.
It’s an occasion that the players, manager, supporters and owners have to saviour, as promotion successes don’t come around often, never mind consecutively.
The Reds complemented that success by breaking further records off the pitch; increasing attendance, popularity in America and boasting revenue that puts them on par with most Championship clubs.
As the season draws to a close and Wrexham cap off their short stay in League Two, Parkinson’s men aim to break one more record.

The record Wrexham are looking to break vs Stockport County
Wrexham’s home record is truly remarkable.
The Reds have recorded the most wins in League Two (16) and scored more goals at home (60) than Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal this season.
In contrast to their away form, where they rank sixth in the fourth tier, Wrexham are utterly dominant at the STōK Cae Ras as they close in on a six-year record.
Wrexham currently rank second with the most goals scored at home in League Two since the 1999/00 campaign. Their tally of 60 places them ahead of Chesterfield (59 – 2010/11), Notts County (58 – 2009/10) and Yeovil (57 – 2004/05).
Luton currently hold that record with 62 goals scored at home in the 2017/18 campaign, however, Parkinson’s side have an opportunity to break it by putting a few past champions Stockport County on the final day.
Stockport wrapped up the title last night following a 5-2 thumping of Notts County, so both sides will want to cap off their impressive campaigns in style.
Wrexham share comparisons with Luton
Although they’re eyeing up their record, Wrexham share comparisons with Luton.
The two sides were stuck in the National League for many years, with the Hatters escaping the fifth tier in 2014 before recording back-to-back promotions in 2018 and 2019 to go from League Two to the Championship.
Having recorded consecutive promotions, McElhenney and Reynolds are eyeing up a similar journey to stardom that Luton achieved last term, earning promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
The Reds dream of reaching the top flight, just like the Hatters did in 2023. And with their Hollywood superstars at the helm, anything seems possible.
