Wrexham defender, Aaron Hayden came off against Yeovil Town and as a result, a defender signing in January could be likely.
Yeovil Town travelled to face Wrexham in the FA Cup this weekend with a tie against Shrewsbury Town awaiting the winner.
Following a great run last season, Phil Parkinson and his side are hopeful to replicate their form in the world’s oldest cup competition.
It is safe to say that they’ve started this campaign well and with a win over Yeovil at The Racecourse, they are well on their way.
Thanks to goals from Ollie Palmer, Andy Cannon and Sam Dalby, the Reds booked their place in round three of the cup in comfortable circumstances.

Their progression in the competition did come at a cost however as Aaron Hayden came off injured and was replaced by James Jones. Given the quality in the Wrexham back line that he adds it was a disappointing loss.
What has been said about Aaron Hayden?
It is safe to say, that Hayden hobbling off early on once again, was something that no one at The Racecourse wanted to see.
It was unclear what injury he might done. In recent years the defender has suffered many unfortunate setbacks. He missed a large spell of last campaign following a calf injury vs Sheffield United last year, as reported by the BBC.
It has been reported on Twitter by Rob Phillips that it looks like a tight calf was the issue for Hayden which saw him withdrawn.
This does sound more promising than his substitution originally looked but with his history, it could be a risk not worth taking to bring him back too quickly. It must be said that with the January transfer window coming up, a defensive signing may be made.
Although there is cover for Hayden which has plenty of quality. From William Boyle to the versatile George Evans, Parkinson has some good options to make use of in the coming weeks.
Although these are more than good enough as cover, there may be a use for a first-team option to come in, in the upcoming window.
This is in no disrespect to Hayden as it is clear the quality he possesses but with his injury concerns, some cover would be useful. With the January window approaching, even a loan signing may be a worthwhile move to help Parkinson and his defence.
