Wrexham now have a full range of kits for the new Championship season after releasing the new third strip on Thursday.
Wrexham’s Championship kick-off against Southampton is now just over a week away.
The celebrations at the STōK Cae Ras after Wrexham clinched promotion to the Championship in April seem like five minutes ago, but the new season is looming.
Phil Parkinson takes his side to the South Coast, and Wrexham are likely to don the new yellow away strip for this game.
Wrexham’s away shirt emerged in July, a yellow number with green pinstripes which draws inspiration from the daffodil, the national flower of Wales.
Wrexham’s home shirt is the classic red, but the club have now released a very interesting design for the third kit this season.

Wrexham release new third shirt
Avid watchers of ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ may remember episode six of season three, which featured the story of Welsh settlers in Patagonia, Argentina.
Y Wladfa – which translates to ‘the colony’ or ‘the settlement’ in English – is a Welsh settlement in Patagonia, first established in 1865.
There are still Welsh speakers in the region, and Wrexham have now paid tribute with an Argentina-inspired third shirt.
The shirt features classic Argentinian colours of light blue and white, though the football stripes have been traded for hoops more associated with rugby.
The design is inspired by the Y Wladfa flag, with CEO Michael Williamson explaining the decision.
“This new third kit is a powerful tribute to our shared heritage with the Welsh community in Patagonia,” said Williamson on Wrexham’s official website.
“Through its celebration of Y Wladfa, it honours a 160-year bond rooted in resilience, identity, and pride – all values that continue to shape Wrexham AFC today. As we look to the future, we remain deeply connected to our past,” he added.
Wrexham fans on new away shirt
The design is something fresh for Wrexham, though it isn’t to everybody’s taste.
Wrexham fans have taken to social media to react, and some feel that the new shirt is ‘gorgeous’ and ‘classy’.
Some can’t wait to get their hands on the new shirt, branding it ‘a thing of beauty’ while appreciating the history and the sentiment behind the design.
Others really aren’t a fan of seeing blue on a Wrexham shirt, believing that it just looks wrong – even if there is reasonable thought behind the idea.
Some also don’t like the black sponsor on the front of the shirt, even adding that the design is, in true ‘Inbetweeners’ fashion, ‘too jazzy’.
- Hand on heart, not been in love like this with a kit for a while. I thought they smashed it with the home kit, but this is just unreal
- Classy. One of the best kits. A great tribute to Patagonia. Will be buying this one
- Wow, that is gorgeous.
- When I first seen it, I wasn’t sure, now I have to say I love it. We have got 3 amazing kits this season.
- A thing of beauty
- The artistry is back! Didn’t like the first two shirts much because I felt like they lost the intricate nuances from last year’s. This one redeems whoever is making the shirt design choices.
- Wasn’t a fan when I first saw it, but it’s growing on me.
- Blue & white Patagonia tribute is excellent. That red badge/stitching is diabolical… Should’ve been black like the sponsor.
- Blue – shouldn’t be anywhere near a Wrexham kit
- Awful, blue has no place on a Wxm shirt
- The Blue. The red trim/badge. The black sponsor. Change one of those and you probably have a winner … but it just looks a bit messy as is. Still, it might be a grower.
- Too jazzy and a massive disappointment. I trust this one won’t be making it into the Wrexham AFC Shirt Connoisseurs Hall of Fame anytime soon.
Wrexham will wear yellow against Southampton next weekend, but will surely break out the new third strip on occasion this season.
