It has been an amazing year for Wrexham, who are now competing with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea in one area.
Wrexham began 2024 battling it out in League Two, aiming to secure promotion to the third tier for the first time in their history.
Phil Parkinson was able to guide the Red Dragons to a second-place finish in 2023/24, seeing them win automatic promotion alongside Stockport County.
Stockport have since fallen away somewhat in 2024/25, sitting ninth in League One ahead of the latest round of midweek fixtures.
Wrexham, on the other hand, are flying high and are currently second in the table, two points off Tom Brady’s Birmingham City.
There are a number of reasons the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds-owned club have enjoyed so much success in the last year.
Max Cleworth has improved so much for Wrexham of late, adding a serious attacking threat to his game recently.
A number of the club’s recent transfer additions have been great, with George Dobson dominating the EFL in some key stats.

Wrexham level with Chelsea and just behind Arsenal in key stat
Wrexham’s home defensive record in 2024 is staggering as well, with the Red Dragons having conceded just seven goals in all domestic competitions when playing at home in 2024.
All of these things add up and have played a key role in Parkinson’s side being one of the best in the EFL for a rather remarkable stat.
Ahead of Wrexham facing Stevenage on Tuesday evening, the Welsh outfit have won a staggering 20 games in all domestic competitions so far in 2024.
The recently promoted team have the joint-fourth most wins across the entire EFL along with Peterborough United and Chelsea.
A win in midweek could see them move up into third place along with Arsenal, Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers and Wycombe Wanderers.
Liverpool currently hold second place in the list while Manchester City, unsurprisingly, are top.

How Wrexham can chase down Arsenal and Liverpool
While Wrexham are six wins behind Manchester City and unlikely to catch Pep Guardiola’s side before the end of the year, they could gain ground on both Arsenal and Liverpool.
However, to do this, Parkinson and co. must improve one very important thing in the remainder of the year.
Wrexham are yet to lose at home in 2024/25 but they have already dropped seven points away from the Racecourse Ground.
They drew with Bolton Wanderers, lost to Birmingham City and were held by Leyton Orient in their last League One fixture.
A couple of those games were tough, but if Wrexham want to win automatic promotion this season and end 2024 with a better win record than Arsenal, they need to start earning more victories on the road.
They are once again away from home on Tuesday, traveling to Broadhall Way for a meeting with a Stevenage side sat 11th in the division.
